A delegation from the Defence Services Command and Staff College (DSCSC) of Sri Lanka called on the High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to India on 28 July 2026, during its International Collaboration Study Tour, reaffirming the longstanding defence partnership and close professional ties between Sri Lanka and India.

The 14-member delegation, led by Colonel DMVMR Dissanayaka, comprises officers of the Sri Lanka Army, Navy and Air Force, together with two members of the directing staff.

The visit forms part of the DSCSC's International Collaboration Study Tour, which is designed to broaden participants' understanding of regional security dynamics, defence cooperation and strategic engagement through interaction with key institutions in partner countries.

During their 14-day programme in India, the delegation will receive professional briefings from the Indian Armed Forces, engage with leading defence and strategic think tanks in New Delhi, and visit the Information Fusion Centre – Indian Ocean Region (IFC-IOR) in Gurugram. The itinerary also includes visits to Pune and Mumbai, where the officers will gain first-hand exposure to India's military establishments, maritime capabilities and strategic infrastructure, alongside visits to places of historical and cultural significance.

Welcoming the delegation, the High Commissioner highlighted the enduring defence relationship between Sri Lanka and India, underscoring the importance of professional military education, institutional exchanges and people-to-people connections in fostering mutual understanding and enhancing bilateral defence cooperation.

The visit reflects the shared commitment of Sri Lanka and India to strengthening defence engagement through dialogue, capacity building and sustained professional exchanges.
