The National Chairman of the Kenya International Freight and Warehousing Association (KIFWA), Fredrick Aloo, together with the Executive Officer of KIFWA, Wycliffe Wanda, and members of the Association, paid a courtesy call on the Acting High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to Kenya, Ruvini De Silva, on 4 August 2026 at the High Commission of Sri Lanka in Nairobi.

The meeting focused on enhancing trade and logistics cooperation between Sri Lanka and Kenya, with particular emphasis on promoting Sri Lanka Expo 2027, scheduled to be held in Colombo. The discussions highlighted the role of the logistics and freight forwarding sector in facilitating international trade and strengthening commercial linkages between the two countries.

During the meeting, the Acting High Commissioner briefed the KIFWA delegation on the objectives and opportunities offered through Sri Lanka Expo 2027, which will showcase Sri Lanka's export sectors, investment potential, tourism, and business opportunities. She encouraged KIFWA members to participate in the exhibition and explore opportunities to establish trade and logistics partnerships with Sri Lankan counterparts.

The Acting High Commissioner also informed the delegation of two promotional briefing sessions to be organized by the High Commission to raise awareness of Sri Lanka Expo 2027 among the Kenyan business community. The first session will be held on 25 September 2026 in Nairobi, followed by a second session on 2 October 2026 in Mombasa. The KIFWA delegation welcomed the initiative and expressed its willingness to encourage its members and the wider logistics community to participate in the briefing sessions and the Expo.

The meeting concluded with both sides reaffirming their commitment to strengthening bilateral trade relations and promoting collaboration in freight forwarding, warehousing, shipping, logistics, and international commerce, thereby contributing to enhanced economic cooperation between Sri Lanka and Kenya.
